Anyone who loves It’s a Wonderful Life will enjoy this. Stanwyck in her girl reporter role is outstanding for those of us who like strong, smart heroines, but the moment I knew I was watching something special was during James Gleason’s scene in the bar with Gary Cooper. He talks about losing his father in WWI and his own service as a young man in that war. Considering the time when this movie was released - in 1941 before the U.S. entered WWII - that scene almost brought tears to my eyes.
