When It Hits The Fan...

When it hits the fan, grab a shovel, clean up the mess, and then take a long, hot bath before starting over. I could have used the whole lemons line, but hey, this is Book Babe, and while this post is about new covers, new directions, and a new beginning, some things stay the same. ;)

Hear Through My EarsThere's been a lot of changes in my writing career the last two weeks. I've come to the realization I made some poor choices. Hey, I'm a new writer and I don't know everything. I did not take the time to choose the best houses for my stories, I put all my eggs in one basket, or I trusted some of the wrong people, the list continues. And I'm not blaming anyone but myself.

Many things threw me for a loop the last two weeks, shook me to my core, but as one of my dearest friends said to me, "When one door closes, a window opens." And it's a big window! It is. It took a few days to see it, but that light is shining around the dark storm cloud.

I truly believe good things will come of this new venture of mine: self-publishing.

Sinful UrgesSome of you may have noticed my books disappearing off the market. Don't panic! I'm on it. I'm just taking it easier this time. I'm pleased to announce I'm planning a huge relaunch month for September. Why September? Because I want to do it right.

Maiden Behind the Mask is relaunching September 3rd.
Sinful Urges has got a bit of a makeover. Check out it's new cover! Its relaunch is September 10th.

Deaf Isn't Dumb is coming back with a new title and cover. This is a time for NEW. New covers, new start, new marketing plan. It is now Hear Through My Ears and releasing September 17th.
FemDocsAnd I'm topping my incredible month off with a never seen before publication, FemDocs, a SciFi/Femdom novelette, September 24th.
I'd like to ask all my readers/followers/fans if they would be interested in hosting me on their blogs the month of September. I'd like to promote one book a week, during the week of their release. My goal is to have a spotlight on a blog every weekday of the month of September. Anyone interested, please contact me via Facebook, email me, or even, Goodreads message me. I'm here with documents complete with blurbs and excerpts at the ready.

Thank you, all, friends, family, blog followers, and readers, for your patience and support as I shovel up what hit the fan. LOL I promise it will be a sparkling-clean, smells like Lysol moment when it's all done.

  1. Excellent attitude, Tara. My brother always says: What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. You're a survivor and a terrific writer. Love the new covers. I'd be happy to host you on my blog for one or all four releases. September is free except for the 10th. Let me know. lornel@xplornet.ca

  2. Glad you can see the positive -it's a good example for us all. As a new author I feel for you. So many publishers- who do you trust? We are on our own trying to navigate through it all. Best of luck on your releases and keep me posted so I can buy your books

  4. Good for you Tara, I know that you have been through the school of hard knocks with your dealing with pubishers, and others.

  5. Very good post Tara. I am glad you have decided to go this route you will be just fine. Attitude is one of the things that will help get you thru this all and the support of your readers. I am very proud of you for handling things the way you have. A lot of people would have quit but not you. Dusted your self off and cleaned the @@@@ off the floor and love that Lysol smell and moving on. Keep up the good work.
